Coming Up:

Brendan Hoare - In essence, a new Gaian thinking needs to be enacted
where we can turn crises into opportunity.

Brendan has degrees in agricultural systems and horticulture …
plus regional and urban landscaping and rural development.

With 26 years in sustainable systems, design, leadership and philosophy
Brendan has also explored traditional food production spending much time
in Asia learning this process. The urgency is to convert NZ to a new era
in farming to horticulture, and the Asian model that supports large
populations has many sustainable possibilities.

Executive Chair and founder of econation2020 Trust; see
www.econation2020.org.nz

Currently he is Lecturing in Sustainable Horticulture and Resource
Management Degree program at Unitec NZ.

Previous Interviews:

Eva Maria 17 year old teenage coach and mentor and Waverney Warth is involved with “The Rubbish Free Challenge”

Originally from Siberia in Russia and now to our good fortune from Wellington, Eva Maria Salikhova has written a book called ‘you shut up’ to address the current ongoing 'bridge building' of how to relate to teenagers. Eva's speculations of parent-teenager conflicts and how they can be resolved with a win-win outcome have come from many years of
mentoring and coaching teenagers all over the world through one-on-one, or group talking, TXTing, e-mail, over the phone, and instant messaging.
"You Shut Up!" has been the Lambton Quay Dymocks Bestseller for Eight Consecutive Weeks!

www.youshutup.co.nz

From Christchurch we have the “The Rubbish Free Challenge” where Waverney Warth who with her husband Matthew Luxon have taken on the challenge in their household to create no rubbish for the landfill from the 1st February 2008 to 1st February 2009. The mantra Reduce… Reuse… Rehome… Recycle… the four Rs are a big part of the plan to eliminate rubbish.

Listen to how we can simplify our life, live healthier and learn how we can can alter our habits to become 'conscious' consumers.

Wayne Walker: Green entrepreneur and Regional Councilor since 2001, Wayne has 30 years of
ecological and environmental experience, as well as a university commerce
degree in management, organisation and project management. His commercial
background is in retail, manufacturing, product development and project
management.

Listen to one of the most coherent exponents of visionary sustainability
in NZ local body politics today. As climate change awakens us from our
lethargy, we find that there are people in the community who are making
conscious decisions to bring about a future that will give the younger
generation a sense of purpose and focus.

Wayne's practical and sensible understanding of the current relationship
of humanity to life in the biosphere is common sense and needs to be
applauded. His ability to out-picture the limited understanding of the
status quo, by applying far reaching blue prints towards our common future
needs the support of a conscious electorate - both locally and globally.

Graeme Sait:

From Brisbane Australia, New Zealander Graeme Sait, he’s an Author/Educator - Graeme Sait, is the co-founder of Qld Company, Nutri-Tech Solutions (NTS), a recognised world leader in sustainable agriculture/horticulture. He is a sought after, global keynote speaker, plus the founder of Radiance, a 6 day Wellness Festival at Woodford, that attracts crowds in excess of 12,000. He has many years of researching health and wellbeing and the benefits of all the correct foods especially fats and oils to teas, herbal remedies plus soil health agricultural systems and biological farming etc.

Learn of the profound interdependence of soil microflora of bacteria and fungi that is crucial to plant growth, healthy soil (and sequesting Co2 from the atmosphere.)

Bryce Langston
Conscious Art & Media & Kevin Hackwell on NZ Bush and Forests

Bryce is a high energy 23 year old proactive Aucklander who is using media tools and networking to empower the neighborhood both locally and globally to take action on sustainability and our mutual future. Listen to a very focused inspirational communicator as he articulates a resounding message of capability, hope and vision. A must listen for anyone under a hundred who desires a optimistic outcome for our planet and peoples.

Kevin Hackwell
Forest and Bird spokesperson on Bush and Forests
in New Zealand.

An active campaigner for conservation for over 30 years. Kevin’s
background includes working as a government ecologist, being on the Board of Greenpeace New Zealand, fighting all four of the West Coast beech scheme proposals, and managing the 1993 Electoral Reform Coalition’s campaign for the referendum which brought in MMP.

Interview covers the amount of forest and bush cover across New Zealand and historically and where we are today, dealing with the gigantic problem of introduced pests and the fortunate possibility of trees sequesting Co2 from the atmosphere.

Annemarie Banchy on Compost worms & Frank Van Steensel on soil.

Annemarie owns a compost worm farm in Christchurch called “earthy delights”
and farms tiger and red worms. She also sells worms and ‘farms’ throughout NZ.
Listen to how someone with a passion for education and sustainability uses
earthworms to break down organic waste to produce high quality plant food
called worm castings, keeping household waste to a minimum and via compost
worms curtailing methane gas, another greenhouse gas.

http://www.earthlydelight.co.nz/

Frank Van Steensel a grower, researcher and adviser of holistic
sustainable production systems. If we as a society only realized that
healthy soil with plenty of humus could quite possibly solve, to a large
measure global warming and climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide -
pulling it out of the atmosphere and locking it into the soil structure.
With an exponential increase in microorganisms, bacteria, fungi etc we
could totally re balance and turn around our future allowing nature to
cool our planet in a balanced way. The answer as they say “is in the soil."
soil.”

Richard Williams
of Potatoplates in Blenheim in the South Island.

Richard's the inventor of the innovative world leading potato starch plates, bowls
and punnets. Made from liquid waste left over potato starch from chip making, they
are so environmentally friendly that you can dispose them via the compost heap.

Richard is also the recipient of New Zealand’s Zero Waste Award and has now joined
the ranks of "101 Incredible Kiwi's" as an Eco-entrepreneur.

Robert Bradley from North Hokianga on NZ largest “growers” market in Whangarei.

Learn about a food market with 6,000 customers in one day, where local growers,
farmers and fishermen sell their ‘fresh’ wares directly to consumers. Vendors may
only sell what they grow, farm, pickle, preserve, bake, smoke or catch themselves
from within a defined local area. These markets take place at a public location in
villages, towns and now cities across NZ on a regular basis. Is this where fresh farm
products are heading?

Charmaine Watts

Of the Sustainable Electricity Association of N.Z.

With climate change and sustainability converging, NZers especially those with homes far from the road are looking seriously at generating their own electricity, with solar and wind technologies in particular.

The ideal of having a solar hot water system plus photovoltaic cell panels supplemented by a windmill is becoming both practical and … even romantic.
Becoming independent in energy production for the next 25 to 30 years can be realised.

What are the challenges around producing your own electricity and is it going to be more affordable? Can we on-sell to the large energy companies, excess energy that we produce sending it back through the grid?

Antony Vallyon
- President United Nations Association of New Zealand.

Antony currently works for the North Shore City Council in the
infrastructure division and would be the cities disaster recovery manager
in a civil emergency such as a tsunami or earthquake.

Listen to how UNANZ was established 64 years ago in NZ - 1 year after the United Nations itself was formed. While the UN is about governments, the UN Associations are non-government "people's organisations" who volunteer to support the mission and programs of the UN. I.e. Peace, Health, Justice, Children, Education, Food, Water etc

Yet, where is the UN going? What about UN Reform, what is NZ’s role, the
elimination of cluster bombs, land mines and depleted uranium? The UN has no army, so how does fundamental Christianity see the role of the UN? Can we have World Peace?

Professor Ian Lowe - emeritus professor of science, technology and society at Griffith University, President of the Australian Conservation Foundation, Officer of the Order of Australia in 2001

Talking on: Climate Change and Global Warming, if nuclear power is the Answer it has to be a stupid Question, why meat eating and animal farming needs to be reduced and the deterioration and restoration of the massive
Murray, Darling catchment area.

Ian Lowe is one of the most knowledge environmentalists in Australia today and for years has been at the forefront of Australia environmental movement, continually at odds with the then Prime Minister Howard.

Dr Robert Mann on the Challenge of Genetically Modified Organisms

Robert Mann - In all probability the the strongest advocate for NZ being FREE of Genetically Modified Organisms. (GE Free.)

Listen to a coherent, and forceful appraisal of the current state of genetically modified organisms plus the distortions, half truths and lies as commercially oriented businesses wheel around our planet to sew their seeds of deception.

Originally from Wellington, via the University of California at Berkeley. He taught Biochemistry in the University of Auckland then moved to be in charge of Environmental Studies. In retirement he works for control of gene-engineering or some would say tampering, and develops his solar-thermal inventions.

He has previously advised Ministers of the Crown on energy, and on poisons. Dangerous technologies have interested him - nuclear weapons, nuclear reactors, leaded petrol, 2,4,5-T and other poisons.

Robert was active on the council of the NZ Association of Scientists soon after genetic engineering was invented, and in 1977 the NZAS proposed a moratorium on GE pending a Royal Commission. For the past decade he has focussed mainly on this subject. Listen and mobilise your consciousness on this subject, in this year of a general election.

Govt and Health Departments attack on Natural Remedies

Listen to Nicola Grace spokesperson for Health Freedom a group of
concerned consumers of natural health products. Telling us what the
challenge is and the need for ordinary NZers to stand up and be counted.
Make this an issue, in election year.

For over half of all NZers (at least 2 million) take supplements on a daily
basis. In the last 20 years New Zealanders have swallowed approximately 14,600,000,000 that's Fourteen Thousand Six Hundred Million tablets or capsules, and not one death.

In Contrast: Death in New Zealand in 1998 (the last year of detailed
official statistics available) caused by adverse reactions to pharmaceutical drugs killed 1,524 New Zealanders and deaths associated with medical injury (mistakes by doctors and medical staff) killed 4,222
New Zealanders.

So why in democratic NZ is the Government wanting to stamp out natural
health remedies and vitamins and control them to a point that producers
will be financially marginalised and remedies will be unavailable?

Across NZ two complementary systems are converging, in the form of
“Transition Towns” and a new currency, called Green Dollars and Time Banking and they are morphing towards a “new civil community.”

This movement is rising due to perceptions around peak oil, and probable shortages, increasing energy costs, food costs and all the other variables from escalating mortgage repayments to failing finance companies, a future financial crash & earthquake and civil defense.

Listen to 4 people who each add to the emerging paradigm.

Laurence Boomert, on Transition Towns and Peak oil. www.transisitiontowns.org.nz

Helen Dew of Living Economies, www.le.org.nz and complementary currencies.

Followed by Don Northcott from South Africa and establishing a local currency in Capetown

Finally Miguel Yasu-Yuki Hirota – from Japan, in NZ telling us about local currencies in Argentina.

Chris Cooper
West End actor, TVNZ producer, Environmentalist, ex Green Party electorate manager talks on the New Spirit Festival, this Sunday 20th, at the North Harbour Stadium, Albany.

Chris who has been in the Green/holistic/healing/metaphysical and spiritual field for the last 25+ years tells his story as to how he facilitates the opportunity for all to learn, grow and discern - to come into a deeper understanding of self.

Chris organised his first spiritual festival in 1986 at Auckland University. Back then it was called the Alternative Medicine Exhibition and it took place at a time when Auckland had just two natural health clinics and there was much hostility from the orthodox medical profession. The show has drawn tens of thousands of visitors from across New Zealand over the years and continues to feature top New Zealand and international speakers covering a huge range of topics.

Dr Robin Kelly, who has a practice in Albany, Auckland. Straddles the
world of traditional, complimentary and allopathic medicine. He has a
unique understanding of the yin and yang of healing.

Robin has recently published a book called "The Human Antenna which is a fascinating exploration of the connections between body, mind, and spirit.
Larry Dossey, MD, a top American author of ‘The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things.’ States that No form of medicine can be complete that does not recognize these interactions, as Dr. Robin Kelly has admirably done." --

Bruce Lipton from Stanford University in the US says this. - Expertly weaving together traditional Western medical science, Eastern medicine's energy philosophy, and a dash of quantum physics, Dr. Robin Kelly concocts a powerful and wise prescription for self-healing and self-empowerment.
Filled with astounding scientific insights, wit, wisdom, and heart, The Human Antenna is a delight to read."

Don Tolman Health Researcher, Wholefoods proponent
Dynamic, Powerful, Inspiring, Hope filled... this is how we feel when we hear the virtues of whole foods from the garden as expressed by Don Tolman. With health becoming more an issue, particularly with baby boomers, the need to restore vitality and life force in our being brings us to our present state of awareness. By reversing years of unhealthy nutrition, we'll not only see our waistline shrink, but we'll arm ourselves against many deadly diseases later in life.

If you slice a Carrot it looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines that look just like your eye...and YES they are good for your eyes.
A Walnut is an amazing image of your brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. And even the folded crinkles on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. It has now been proven that walnuts help develop over 35 neuro-transmitters for brain function.
A Tomato is red and has four chambers. The heart is red and has four chambers. And the sum of the research shows tomatoes are indeed blood and heart food.
Grapes hang in heart shaped clusters. Individual grapes look like blood cells and all of today's research shows that grapes vitalize blood and heart function.
Kidney Beans really do revive and maintain kidney function.

Rhys Taylor
of Christchurch on Sustainable Living
As it dawns on New Zealanders that climate change and global warming are impinging on our collective consciousness we are finding that both individuals and groups are moving to positions where they can coherently act as vehicles for sustainability.

Rhys Taylor a researcher to Landcare Research Ltd, is working on two aspects of a public-funded long-term projects on 'capacity building for sustainable development.’ These explore future possible scenarios for NZ life and also the role of formal and informal education in prompting behaviour changes towards sustainability within society. Rhys also spends time each week coordinating a national community education programme called 'Sustainable Living', run by 23 NZ wide
councils in partnership. Go to www.sustainableliving.org.nz

We in New Zealand are witnessing progressive initiatives to mobilise consciousness and strategies to meet the future. With sustainableliving.org.nz we see how a web site can be the catalyst to educate and prepare the populace for our fast coming future.

Honouring Joe Polaischer of Matakana's Rainbow Valley Farm.

We mourn the sudden death on February 14th of NZ's Green Permaculture and Sustainability hero. Listen to Joe Polaischer when he was interviewed 3rd of Nov 2005.

Hear how an extremely marginal plot of land was turned into a sustainable permaculture paradise. After 20 years of dedication and inspiration, Joe's life work became a highly productive organic garden and orchard, with an energy-efficient passive solar home and a wonderfully rich lifestyle. Animals, birds and bees being integrated into its edible landscape.

The Rainbow Valley farm has become known as one of New Zealand's best models of permaculture where with his wife, Trish, they ran tours and work shops each summer to share what he had learnt with others. Over the years they hosted many diverse groups from garden clubs, schools, kindergartens and university students from New Zealand and overseas, as well as government ministers and United Nations advisors.

Hear Joe tell his inspiring story of what they as a couple stand for and and learn how to keep your individual ecological footprint as small as possible.

Bob Tait & John White - Friends of the Earth
As we become aware of the fragility of the global and local ecology we can be thankful to many of the environmentalist who have climbed trees, stopped whale slaughter, demonstrated at rallies and street level, talked to politicians, written submissions and spent much of their adult life endeavouring to educate New Zealanders of the seriousness of protecting our environment and leaving a healthier planet to future generations

Listen to Bob Tait and John White of F.O.E. or Friends of the Earth, one of the environmental groups dedicated to long-term ecological concerns. They have been working voluntarily for many years at the forefront of bringing ecology and all the ramifications of thinking at a deeper level, about man’s affect on the web of relationships that embraces all life within the biosphere.

When most of us today are involved in making ends meet and endeavouring to make life a financial and creative success, it is somewhat humbling to hear of two ecologists making a difference, and doing so in an unassuming way.

James Samuel
of Waiheke island, is assisting in the coordination of a country wide movement called Transition Towns. James has been looking at the issue of localised sustainability within a small community.

What is a Transition Town?

Transition Town initiatives are bringing people together out of a desire to explore how we - and our communities - can respond to the twin challenges of climate change and peak oil. He states he doesn't have all the answers but believes the growing groups are very innovative and can create the required solutions.

Each transition group networks with people engaging in a coordinated range of projects designed to transition from high energy to low energy lifestyles in the most creative manner. Their aim is to re-localise our communities making them vibrant, resilient and truly sustainable.

Though not envisioned, this could also be key in emergencies, as in earthquakes volcanoes etc.

Dr Bruce Lipton, recently in New Zealand, author of the popular book Biology of Belief, Unleashing the power of Consciousness, Matter and miracles.

Stunning new scientific discoveries about the biochemical effects of the brain’s functioning show that all the cells of your body are affected by your thoughts. A renowned cell biologist, describes the precise molecular pathways through which this occurs.

His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which run counter to the established scientific view that life is
controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of
study, the science of epigenetics,

With recommendations from Joseph Chilten Pearce the Author of Crack in the Cosmic Egg and the Magical Child, Karl Pribram Professor Emeritus, at Stanford, with his theory that memory may be stored in our brain as if in a hologram, and Ralph Abrahams, Ph.D professor of Mathematics, University of California, Santa Cruz, Author of Foundations of Mechanics: Dynamics, the Geometry of Behavior and Chaos, Gaia, Eros. Who states …

“In this paradigm-busting book, Bruce Lipton delivers a TKO to Old Biology. With a left to Darwinian dogma and a right to allopathic medicine, he breaks out of the physicalist box into enlightenment on the mind/body (belief/biology) system. Must read, much fun.”

Dr Ingrid Visser, Orca specialist of www.orcaresearch.org based in Tutukaka Northland.

Orca the great black and white mammal of the seas the largest member of the dolphin family commonly called a killer whale, is to some likened to a powerful sea wolf that has no enemies here on earth other than man, yet there are few, if any stories of them attacking humans.

This magnificent hunter lives in waters around New Zealand and as recently as the last week been seen swimming along the East Coast Bays inspiring us to realise that a profound and intelligent gift of nature is swimming 150 metres off our beaches.

Elisabeth von Madarasz has trained as a Shaman since 1989 with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS, USA). She studied for over 2 years with Robert Morningsky and during a Vision Quest in Arizona her passion to master survival skills was aroused. Elisabeth is a Graduate of the Tom Brown Jnr. Survival and Philosophy systems and teaches workshops internationally.

Shamanism is possibly the oldest known system relating to the human endeavour to know and heal oneself, going back thousands of years we find the term emerged our of Siberia and is allied to witch doctors and medicine men / women. Shaman's conversed with nature and the forces both within and without, as everything is animated by spirit. Very unorthodox to present day medicine and our Western cosmology, shamanism has a very unique understanding of our relationship to the web of life and to the oneness of being, from honouring of birth to the sacredness of death.

In 1998 Elisabeth founded the Academy of Shamanic Studies (NZ). She aims to teach Shamanism in a way that honours the cultural heritage of each person as well as the spirit and vibrations of the land. Elisabeth's vision is to share the ancient Shamanic principles of oneness and our interconnectedness, so we can

Chris Holmes:

The human species has found itself at the cross roads of survival on our planet. Collectively we are required to awaken to the realities affecting us and to instigate positive change now!
Action is a priority, yet psychologically our hearts and minds need to be reactivated.

Christopher is a Canadian clinical and forensic psychologist who has explored the relationships between Ancient Wisdom and forefront science for many years: including studies of Blavatsky and the S.D., Gurdjieff, the Kabbalah, Vedic science and esoteric Christianity.

He is highly critical of modern psychology, which has lacked any science of consciousness, the heart and soul. Christopher is an engaging and provocative speaker who featured in the “Theosophy and New Frontiers of Science” conference at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) in California in August, 2007. Christopher has recently written a book called God, Science and the Secret Doctrine – the zero-point metaphysics and holographic space of H.P. Blavatsky.

His website is www.zeropoint.ca.

Kimberley Patterson 'Conscious Consumerism' for a Sustainable Future. Can ‘conscious’ consumers turn around the market on Spaceship Earth? Are consumers savvy enough to realise their collective buying power can drive our quest for sustainability and an optimistic future?

The New York Times calls it "the biggest market" you've never heard of – it’s about the 30 per cent of the population of many countries who are now making buying decisions based on issues such as a company's stance on ethics, the environment and social consciousness.

This phenomenon is officially called `Lifestyles of Health & Sustainability' or LOHAS and has been identified in the US, Britain, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia - and New Zealand. It's a lucrative and fast growing market estimated to be worth $500 billion globally and covers sectors such as natural health, natural products and lifestyles, alternative energy, green building, eco tourism and ethical investing.

Now a new public relations agency here in NZ has been launched to address this growing wellbeing/green/natural market. Soul PR (www.soulpr.com) has been set up by journalist and public relations expert Kimberley Paterson to help businesses and individuals in the LOHAS sector communicate their message to the media and public. What are the possibilities of enabling conscious producers and consumers to become a new economic block?

Stephen King, Conservationist, Environmental Campaigner.

Stephen, now living adjacent to the Waipoua Forest in Northland is fondly remembered as the barefoot activist for sitting on a platform in a giant totara tree in the unique Pureroa forest, forcing all milling to stop and be eventually abandoned.

As Jim Bolger ex conservative Prime Minister of NZ once remarked, “even more trees at Pureroa would have been saved if Stephen had climbed that tree earlier!”
Steven was honoured by Marion Hobbs a previous Minister for the Environment on the internet website www.biodiversity.govt.nz/ in Biodiversity Accolades.

Listen to how we must surmount the challenges around introduced pests like deer, possums, weasels, stoats, cats and invasive plant species to urgently revitalise the gift of the natural NZ bush, bringing it back into balance and a more sustainable state.

Linda Shaw Ecologist & Conference Speaker.
Aucklander Linda Shaw, whose passionate concern over global ecological issues that has seen her radically transform her life.
As a conference speaker and workshop presenter, Linda has the ability to humorously entertain, make her audiences think and creatively challenge them to take action. Her messages blend compassion and optimism with a new way of looking at our place in the world, redefining human nature ethics and business morals and challenging the courage of current generations to
earn a place of honour in history.

With her web site www.mecology.com she has a desire to really get out into both the market place and society and make a difference.

Mecology™ is the discovery of your deep impact on the environment and your commitment to the only decision necessary to restore a world that you want to live in – act to always do right – without fail, without compromise. A code of ethics for all humanity that will define our future.

Glen Atkinson on Biodynamics and Homeopathy
Glen Atkinson has been developing the agricultural work of the turn of the last century German philosopher, Dr Rudolf Steiner. Glen came to New Zealand from Australia in 1976 and has focused on developing Steiner’s Biodynamic agriculture and medical indications, using traditional astrological understandings to develop a simple yet innovative theory and philosophy as a basis for many practical activities. This has resulted in the development of homeopathic essences as outlined in Biodynamics, for humans as well as for influencing the soil and plant growth.

This is also where farming, food, medicine and health all become intrinsically linked.

Listen as Glen slowly unfolds a very compelling story about energy, what it is, how it effects us and for us to be aware of celestial forces that we need to align with in our local nested community within our solar
system. Glen also leads us to where science is heading as we realise a deeper understanding of how we can attune to nature and come back into balance in health and wellbeing.

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
, Sufi Sheik in the Naqshbandiyya-Mujaddidiyya Sufi Order.

Llewellyn will be talking on Gaia consciousness, one humanity and one greater being and also the world soul. In recent years the focus of his writing and teaching has been on spiritual responsibility in our present time of transition, and the emerging global consciousness of oneness (see www.workingwithoneness.org).

Sufism or tasawwuf, as it is called in Arabic, is generally understood by scholars and Sufis to be the inner, mystical, esoteric dimension of Islam. For just as there are esoteric branches of Christianity that align with the Cosmic Christ there are numerous mystical arms within Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoist and most other religions.

Today, however, many Muslims and non-Muslims believe that Sufism is outside the sphere of Islam.

Llewellyn’s an author of several books, including Awakening the World: A Global Dimension to Spiritual Practice, Spiritual Power: How it Works, and The Face Before I was Born: A Spiritual Autobiography. Llewellyn lectures throughout the United States, Europe, and in 2007 in Australia and here New Zealand.

Udo Erasmus, Ph.D. Nutrition, MA Psychology, is one of North America's foremost authorities on the roles that fats and oils play in human health. He is often referred to as The Father of Organic, Unrefined Flax Oil.
His work with essential fatty acids spans three decades and provided the groundwork for all the current public and industry awareness focused on the importance of Essential Fatty Acids or Omega- fats. Lack of essential fatty acids (EFAs) constitutes the most neglected aspect of a nutritional program for healthy, radiant skin. As always, avoid "white foods" and foods rendered toxic by processing or overheating!

* "Low fat is healthier" * "Fatty foods clog your arteries"
* "Use margarine instead of butter" * "Cut out oil to lose weight"

This is incorrect says North America's leading expert on fats and oils.

According to Udo Erasmus, author of "Fats that Heal Fats that Kill", these so-called "sensible dietary maxims" come not from the science of nutrition, but from the high-paid advertising executives in New York’s
Madison Avenue in Madison Avenue's "war on fat" that is being waged to improve corporate profits, not health.

"The giant food makers know that low-fat foods have much longer shelf-lives than fatty foods", says Erasmus. "So they've hired high-powered advertisers to create "fat-phobia" in the minds of consumers
- and they've succeeded."

According to Udo Erasmus, studies have proven that low-fat diets do not improve health. One recent study proved that people who switched from butter to margarine had twice as many heart attacks. "Fresh fats and oils are essential parts of a healthy diet," he says. "They should never be damaged or removed."

What has happened is that the "War on Fat" has stripped America's food supply of vital nutrients called "essential fatty acids -- triggering a variety of degenerative diseases including heart attacks, strokes, cancer,
and diabetes .... Children's health is another casualty in the "war on fat". Children raised on diets without essential fatty acids are more likely to be sick - and they frequently manifest behavioural problems and
learning disabilities."

Dr Cam Calder
a parent's viewpoint towards sustainability

As a father and concerned parent, Cam has been involved in many issues relating to health, the environment, from better food in hospitals for children, wanting healthier water sources for Auckland’s water needs and new strategies for dealing with obesity.

Being both a doctor and a dentist Cam has a wider understanding of what we as humans ingest and this has resulted in long term thinking driven by the future needs of young children and generations to follow.

Cam has recently been working with pubic policy towards genuine progress indicators. Progress and wellbeing indicators ensure the critical human, social, cultural, economic and ecological assets are counted and valued in our measures of progress. They link the economy with these variables to create a more comprehensive and accurate measurement tool.

Jonathan Quintin

On how SACRED GEOMETRY can be used AS A TOOL FOR HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS

Jonathan Quintin combines ancient wisdom with modern technology to reveal a profound order and sublime beauty that exists in the world of sacred geometry. He shows how it can be used as a tool to help us harmonize with the vital forces and to experience an integration of Spirit-Mind-Body in a state of higher consciousness.

On an environmental level, the geometric patterns are blueprints of the refined, regenerative technology that nature has evolved. For example, the mineral quartz is formed of six sided hexagonal crystals while fluorite,
exhibits distinct tetrahedral crystals and common salt have cube shaped crystals. Out in nature we notice that many flowers have a star shape petal structure, that bees make 6 sided honey comb and even the shape of an egg makes it exceptionally strong. Pine cones and sunflowers too, have a mathematical symmetry that underlies an elegance that many of we present-day busy humans have yet to become aware of.

The patterns model healthy working systems that we can apply in our activities to work in harmony with nature and to heal the destruction that has resulted through the misappropriation of modern technology.

Jonathan lectures internationally to a wide range of audiences. He reduces complex issues into simple precepts of shape, pattern, colour and motion. In a very understandable way he demonstrates how geometry unites all forms of life from plant, animal and human to the motions of the planets and stars. He reveals an intrinsic order and sublime beauty that exists in the world of sacred geometry and shows how it can be used as a tool for higher consciousness.

Betty Martini Aspartane in diet drinks and chewing gum.

Betty Martini
the internationally acknowledged leader and co-ordinator of the Mission Possible campaign against the toxic synthetic sweetener aspartame/Additive 951 has been visiting New Zealand over the past three weeks at the invitation of Abby Cormack, a victim herself of aspartame poisoning from chewing gum, and the Safe Food Campaign and Soil & Health Association.

Betty and Abby are in Auckland from Wednesday this week till Sunday and are speaking out at public meetings and over talk-back radio in the city over the health problems presented by heavily advertised products like Diet Colas and sugar free gum. Aspartame itself often appears under the brand names Equal and Nutrasweet in New Zealand and is a component in many diet, diabetic, fitness and consumer medical products and many popular breath fresheners.

Betty and Abby and the support organisations are calling for a complete worldwide ban on aspartame but are facing strong opposition from industry due to the fact that aspartames tobacco-like addictive qualities make it
particularly attractive to the food and beverage industries as a hidden ingredient promoting steady sales of their toxic products. So far the New Zealand media have avoided giving Betty’s visit any publicity, for the
obvious reason that products like certain diet drinks and sugar free gum bring heavy advertising revenue to the print and TV media.Betty Martini  Aspartane in diet drinks and chewing gum.

Paul Hobin has an environment and peace campaign background. Campaigning in forestry, transport, power and oil alternatives, peace squadron etc.dministrator of Friends of the Earth then headed a campaign in London for CND.

Back in New Zealand Paul teamed up with Adrian Butler to take on the Life Insurance Companies. Through their business called The Common Sense Company they were instrumental in getting Insurance to unbundle their so-called savings plans from their Life Cover. Eventually term insurance
was forced to come in and now you can walk into any bank and buy term insurance over the counter. Whole Of Life policies were exposed for the scam that they are. Moving into the arena of mortgages the Butler/Hobin combo tackled the scam of table mortgages, where you were paying your house off over 3 times just to profit the bank.

The Common Sense Company took the saving portion out of peoples Whole of Life policies and put that into their table mortgages. This caused a huge upheaval in the finance industry and there were many attempts to silence them.

The banks eventually were forced to allow people to benefit from repaying their mortgages faster. Now flexible loans are standard and people can save hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to old table mortgages.
This has flowed on now worldwide. The Common
