It sure takes a long time for us to get the message that what we put into our bodies as food, has to be the freshest and of highest quality, preferably organic.
Imagine my shock when reading on the 14th July 2008 the New Zealand Herald, NZ’s premier newspaper page A4, in 'Community Action' the heading is “Health Message getting through.”
“Church ministers preaching a different sort of message have led to thousands of parishioners changing their old habits – and becoming healthier.”
Sound good doesn't it? Then we get to the bit that says “ instead of buying a packet of chips (potato crisps) and a can of Coke, get a loaf of bread and some milk.”
Really what century are we in … and what planet are we on?
Have we been so lost that we have become consumers consuming ourselves?
Yes ,it is an improvement, but how could we have slipped so far down the ladder that we need reminding what is food and what isn't.
Anyone who has any idea of what is health, especially holistic health, will, know that milk, especially homogenised has been basically destroyed, as if it has been imploded - that its constituency has been shattered.
New information is saying that even pasteurised milk lacks enzymes and many other key ingredients. I was lucky when I was young Dad used to bring a stainless steel bucket of milk direct from the cowshed and Mum poured it into a huge bowl, left it in the fridge for the cream to rise to the top, then skim it off, so we had plenty of ‘real ‘ cream in the house and rich raw milk. This is what it is supposed to be.
As for bread, ask any naturopath what there is in (white) bread and they will say basically NOTHING, all the goodness has been refined out of it including all the vitamins and most minerals. It is so devoid of goodness, that bakers are now baking vitamins back into the bread, because they know it’s empty of healthy ingredients.
The message has been out for years and years in the holistic, traditional, alternative health fraternity that white flour is white death, ‘basically’ in the same category as white sugar, white salt, white rice that like all the 'whites’ including heroin and cocaine, have all had the life force sucked out of them.
Salt you say? Yes common sea salt has been bleached of all its many beneficial minerals, (replace with Celtic, & Himalayan salt) and ordinary table until very recently had aluminum anti caking agents included that acts as a free flow agent and was (is) linked to Alzheimer's disease, but not 100% proved … but maybe. Maybe not …
Kelp can be added to the above two salts too.
And when it comes to oils, only extra virgin, preferably organic, don’t cook with olive oil, only coconut oil/fat, maybe avocado or fry in butter, but only if you really liked fried food. A plate of fried food, hash
browns, etc is in fact a plate of free radicals, especially when cooked in cheap supermarket oils.
Drink Udo's oil, if not, top shelf cod liver oil from a dark refridgerated bottle, not capsules, the quality is not up to it.
If we are unable to break free of our coma at this level, it will be near on impossibly to awaken to what it is like to be a human being …
As for microwave ovens, none of my friends have one. Not one qualified Naturopath will have one either. Thye Russians bganned them back in 1978, WHY?
Of all the times for humanity to remember who they are .... this time is now … not for expedients sake to slide into the shadows, when we are here to “shine!”

How connected are we as a family, a community, society, nation and as a planet? At one level we are all connected by the breath that we share and at another level with the arrival of the internet we are finding that we ‘re becoming connected by filaments of light as if the world wide web are like strands of connectivity and nerve endings of the global brain.
Many metaphysical philosophers have spoken about communication (technology) encircling the globe, that the internet can be likened to (Gaia's mother earths) Global Brain being activated. With filaments of light connecting and reconnecting across the hemispheres forming networks that overlap into larger networks - neural pathways with synapses flashing and neurons pulsing; and constellations of incoming and outgoing information radiating to all parts of our planet - to you and I.
Communing together in a growing family of awareness - intelligence connecting with intelligence - knowledge being imparted - steps being taken to improve our society/planet's wellbeing - good vibes emanating - solutions enacted - benevolent use of technology - revolution – fulfilment - celebration!, creation!
And as this is happening as we speak, how do we use this profound communication system to make our life better not only for ourselves, and survival but for our families, the community all the way up to global community. It’s up to us .... all of us to be the change that we want for a better tomorrow. And its not that difficult. A pastor friend of mine once said when asked what needs to be done stated that "all it needs is a change of heart.''
"There are no passengers on spaceship earth, only crew." Buckminster Fuller.

Dear Metro Editor,
Metro Magazine photographs of nearly half of Auckland under water from rising sea levels, due to perceived global warming. Jan /Feb 2008 Publication.
Thank you for both being visionary and investigative in looking at the question of global warming, in particular rising sea levels. I sent the below piece out to a large email network across Auckland yet the response up until now has been muted. Why?
That question has yet to be answered.
This was the email:
Climate change sea levels to drown Auckland harbour bridge engineers’ aspirations? Whilst environmental groups drive past and remain deathly silent!
Ministry of Land Transport, planners and engineers have decided that global warming and climate change does not exist and is definitely not a threat?
The new motorway road works being constructed at the waters edge, on Auckland's Harbour bridge where Onewa road starts at the Northern end of the harbour bridge implies that rising sea levels must be a myth
The pillars that have been built nearly at sea level for the overhead bridges, have been built to a minimal height, so low that they only allow for the smallest amount of clearance for the tops of large trucks and vehicles that will travel underneath.
This road is so close to sea level, that in the early 1990s an Easterly storm that coincided with a spring tide, blew white wave froth across the road area, where once the toll plaza was situated. The water and wind enhanced waves were lapping at the motorways edge!
If Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth becomes reality and sea levels rise, "we the people” are going to have to pay higher taxes to have the roads built up in that area. However, this will incur huge extra costs, because the raising of the height of the road, means that large trucks and vehicles will not be able to drive under the ‘new’ over head bridges because there will be no available clearance, as this has not been planned for.
Though we are being told by Govt and Gore about sea level rises it’s being ignored by Auckland's motorway builders ... why?
The costs of constructing expensive new bridges can be alleviated if the bridges being built have factored in their construction a greater height specification, so that when the contingency for building up the roads in 25 to 40 years time is needed, there will still be room for large trucks and vehicles to drive underneath these bridges, without losing their roof!
The costs to build extra height into these bridges today would be minimal.
How have intelligent builders failed to see this?
Why is there not a huge out-cry by the tens of thousands of
intelligent motorists that drive on this road every day, are we
collectively being dumbed down?
Get in your car - go burn off some greenhouse gasses and have a look for yourself? Photograph it, better still video it for posterity!
This, like the gap between the planners ears will very soon all be set in concrete.
As a city will we all be made to look like lemmings by 2050?
The Millennium Stadium on the wharves was stopped in part due to rising sea levels, but not the motorway, which is far closer to sea level.

Haere mai, Haere mia, Haere mai,
I have a vision, that in the fast arriving future across Aotearoa New Zealand that Maori, the Tangata Whennua (people of the land) will find themselves engulfed in an agriculture renaissance that will be seen by indigenous peoples globally as the forerunner to bringing communities closer together.
For across Aotearoa there are around 1200 maraes, community meeting areas, these are affiliated to the 7 main iwis, tribes, and the many sub tribes hapu.
This is where wonderul organic gardens based on permaculture methods will spring up around all maraes where young tamariki, children and moku puna, grandchildren under the guidance of their kaumatua, wise elders will plant fresh vital organic vegetables, and bring into being a new industry directly to maori, building self worth, major health benefits, eco-tourism, cooking classes, local trading, and set the template for Maori cooperatives to develop un-used Maori land across the country.
With the use of thei nternet the young web savvy Maori will show their marae, utilising the latest in web cams, and taking people from around the planet to ‘virtually’ hear a karanga, call/invite to journey through the gates, the whaharoa, into the marae area, to the whare nui, the large meeting house, then under the carved mania, lintal that is over every door and into the inner realms of the building. Where under the decorated heke's, the rafters one can view tukutuku specially woven wall panelling and large carved teko teko holding up the main poles in the building and see that the carvings represent the iwis tipuna, ancestors as you follow the whakapapa lineage of the present tribe back to the 13 th century, since their arrival from across the Pacific to Aotearoa.
Web access will allow the young ones to display their magnificent garden areas, as well as their produce, the abundance of their crops, and the bounty of their production. Composting and mulching and raised beds with soil full of microflora will be shown as well as methods of growing maori food from the past.
Everyone will be proud to be part of this huge cooperative effort. People will come from afar to view such a vibrant and sight, and feel the love, the aroha of a people at peace, healthy, happy, joyful, working with the land in a sacred act.
Yes very soon all Marae will be gardens of health, virtue and life and light. It is coming.
The wairua will ripple through the land, and aroha (unconditional love) will wash over us allowing the ahi (fire) to remain in our heart (ngākau).
As for myself, Tim Lynch, my whakapapa, my lineage goes back via my great, great grand mother Hineka, from Ngati Kahungunu the iwi from the Hawkes Bay region of Te ika a Maui, the North Island of New Zealand. Aotearoa.

Neighbourhood Watch to Neighbourhood Support!
In St Mary's Bay, a micro suburb in Auckland, NZ there emerged a mutation to the concept of Neighbourhood support. Where instead of peeping and spying at your neighbour, visitors and what went on in your street, it was encouraged that we support our neighbour by getting to know them better, talking with each other more often - this way there would be more social intercourse where we extended our friendships to a wider expanding circle.
It concept was supported by the large insurance company NZI - New Zealand Insurance, (now bought out) and the local police constable was also integral to how the system worked.
Unfortunately, it didn’t make it as a workable universal model, as the challenge was to obtain a volunteer to be a willing active street coordinator. However, here is an extension that could be a blue- print for the new emerging paradigm of social consciousness.
The aim is simple:
1) Divide your borough into sectors of about 25 streets, roads, and avenues.
2) Select a representative to speak for your street or section of Street. If your Street has hundreds of houses, then divide the street up to say a maximum of 35 houses/apartments, per Street co ordinators
3) The carrot to bring these Street coordinators on board would be to offer them a discount or rebate on their annual housing rates.
4) Their job would be to liaise with every house-hold representative in the street. Where they would introduce themselves and tell them that you are there to support them by being a liaison between them, the local council, as well as the police.
They explain that they write up the names of all those occupants in the house, take their phone number and advise them that if there is any pressing matters that effect them in the street, that every 1, or 2 months (to be decided by council) they (along with other Street Coordinators in the local area) will meet with the authorities to brief them of what is happening in your street. You don’t have to give the names of the people over to anyone. It remains with the St Coordinator. (Yes their is privacy requirements around this.)
You may also impress upon them security needs, when going away i.e have someone pick up their mail every day, leaving different low energy lights on in different rooms at night, etc plus anything relating to health and safety. Maybe offer them a DVD on home and street security, or discuss a w.w.web site devoted to this subject.
Finally when the Street / Road Coordinators go as a group to the local council offices they gather in front of councillors, the local police constable and possibly the Deputy Mayor and each St Coordinator is asked to give a 2 to 4 minute synopsis of what’s happening on their respective street.
Items that could be covered are:
Need for more judder bars to curtail speeding.
A need for a rubbish bin at the end of the street where, there maybe is a park/ beach etc.
That the street needs better cleaning, of debris etc.
Removal of graffiti from walls etc
That there were either no burglaries or a burglary / assault that happened on such a such a date. And what resulted.
If there was a house fire.
This meeting would possibly last for a total of one and a half to two hours. At the end of this time the Councillors, Mayor and Police would have a fairly comprehensive understanding of what’s happening throughout the community and suburb.
The above is a frame work, a blueprint with what we can possibly do to enable a peaceful system of neighbourhood support to be active nationwide.
This Neighbourhood Support concept needs central Govt and local Govt support.
And depending on how organised everyone in the street is, as well as how much time the St coordinator has, you could have a Street party, especially at Christmas where carols were sung.
Where we were at St Mary's Bay, we had a small park where we had Guy Fawkes celebration (of all ghoulish things) with bonfire and crackers for the kids, and parents would bring snacks and drinks and it was an opportunity to get to know your neighbours. We even had the neighbourhood men get together to plant a good number of daffodil bulbs in the corners of the park and they are still bursting forth every spring in increasing numbers.
As the neighbourhood representative of our street Yarborough St a very small one, I myself even went as far as producing my own news ‘broad sheet’ which I printed off for those in the street. It was an enjoyable public spirited fun thing to do for a couple of years.
The concept of Neighbourhood Support is an idea whose time has come, especially with climate change and social dysfunctionality becoming more prevalent in our society.
The need to cooperate for our common survival will become paramount!

IRAQ - A Possible Answer?
This Is A Framework To Work With and Improve.
How can American forces, who illegally invaded Iraq, be extricated, without the country descending into a vicious lose/lose civil war that spills over into neighboring states causing regional conflagration?
Possibly the best way is to have the UN ask all countries within the Islamic realm to field lightly armed blue helmeted personel for an alliance of Islamic countries to go into Iraq as peace keepers.
(This paid for by the USA and Britain and proportionately by all other countries who supported this non UN sanctioned incursion.)
With around 51 countries being Islamic with 1.5 billion adherents, a fifth of our planet, this is the time to give them all an opportunity to take care of their own affairs.
The goal is that true Moslem's do not kill Moslem's.
The challenge is to have Shite and Sunny Moslem's working in the spirit of cooperation to bring peace to this area of the world. The aim is to school the Sunny and Shites to co-operate for the good of the community. A big challenge, however one worthy of the higher values of love and chivalry, especially as we all share the same breath.
Shite and Sunny team and language translators / communicators would be with every brigade, battalion, company and platoon. Being a living example of peaceful co existence. No extremist troops would be engaged. Possibly a neutral country can oversee the selection panel and training.
Conflict resolution is a learned system, to be able to reconcile opposing points of view is possible, especially with the correct training, monitoring and ongoing support.
Having Islamic/Arab/Academic think tanks using the latest techniques of peaceful reconciliation can broaden the scope of cooperation. Bringing polarized points together in the spirit of goodwill is achievable.
This will put the Islamic world in the global media spotlight, where they can show the world that Islam is a peaceful religion, dedicated to the brotherhood of man, and (sister hood too).
Yes, there are huge hurdles to surmount however, there are many Moslem's with academic training who should be able to show their communication abilities and bring these threads all together.
With financial support, and a strong will, steps towards resolution can be achieved.
Why is this not been seeded and debated on global TV, Radio and Newsprint media?
Why is the media, not focused on solutions?
Why are the politicians not willing to broach this subject?
Why have the big bloated think tanks in the Western world, not been putting this concept forward? Because they want the oil reserves, even though the burning of oil will cause more Co2 causing climate degradation.

Hospitalisation in New Zealand - “Unhealthy & Unconscious?”
Over a period of 6 months I had the opportunity to visit the NZ public hospital psychiatric system for the elderly, twice and some times 3 to 4 times a week.
I can gladly state that the care and goodwill of the staff, was excellent. The nursing staff treated the patients superbly. In a clean and pleasant facility all paid for by the state due to the foresight of previous NZ governments who put the welfare of the populace as a priority.
With regard to emergency procedures and life support, Western medicine is by far the superior system. If injured, wounded, or suffering from an instantaneous ailment, modern medicine is second to none. I have over the last 25 years had two surgical operations and they have been 100% successful, my care superb.
However, when it comes to preventative medicine and nutrition Western medicine suffers from ‘arrested development.’
The medication of patients in todays 'allopathic' pharmaceutically driven corporate realm is a scandal.
Plus, the food that is dished out to patients in hospital is abysmal.
Under the present system, boffins in some pharmaceutical corporation, experiment with chemical combinations, most probably using animals (vivisection) to test for efficacy and cures and observing for adverse reactions and pain and what side effects that may result.
Usually there is written up by the drug company a long list of side effects from taking these drugs; from nausea, head aches, sleepiness, drowsiness, irritability, high / low blood pressure etc. The reason being that every human body has different tolerances and that in all cases will never have encountered such chemical combinations before and so react accordingly.
However, these narcotics are eventually used to medicate patients, usually with only 10 years of research of use since their actual creation! With no long term prognosis as to what they will do to the human body. ie slow poisoning.
The general consensus is, that Doctors are persuaded to use medications from drug corporations, who have since the 2nd World War penetrated 'medicine' be it into universities and through their vast laboratory systems plus alliances with financial institutions throughout the Western world to put their own converts into positions of power. This process has in turn repressed the use of alternatives like herbal ‘natural and traditional’ treatments, which in truth, there is a huge repository of effective cures that are successful remedies and antidotes today!
This is where present day 'allopathic' medicine shows moral bankruptcy.
We know the Western world is going through a phase of stress and psychological depression, and anti depressants like prozac are prescribed for a vast number of the populace.
These are prescribed to lift people out of their downward spiral, and I feel that this maybe a good short term ‘intervention’ in the meantime, but once they are on the up and up, after a couple of weeks, this is where other alternative holistic modalities can be introduced and a detox then take place.
In talking with one of the doctors at this NZ hospital, a good hearted psychiatrist, I asked him if he was looking at other health alternatives, such as acupuncture and herbs, as I had a friend who was being treated for low blood pressure by a Chinese specialist here in Auckland, who flies regularly between NZ and Shanghai China, where he performs open heart surgery using only acupuncture needles and no drugs.
The psychologist replied with a pleasant, “well when I completed a duty at the London homeopathic hospital, I saw acupuncture being used and I witnessed some very interesting results.”
What's this !!!, Here was a Doctor medicating and dispensing pharmaceuticals in a NZ hospital and he was experienced in a homeopathic hospital in England!
The challenge here is that when patients are seen from a non-holistic perspective, i.e like a mechanical soulless machine, modern medicine, disregards anything metaphysical, refusing to believe that the human body is fully interconnected with acupuncture meridians. And that after being bed ridden, and given copious amounts of drugs, and lifeless food, the body becomes devoid of life force, (or ‘chi’) and becomes extremely sluggish.
By holding a patient’s wrist an acupuncturist can feel and count up to 1 dozen different pulses (not heart beats) connecting to different organs throughout the body and determine what the energy prognosis is, such as in the spleen, gall bladder, large intestine, kidneys etc. This is a 3,000 year old methodology, that is still being ignored by orthodox allopathic medicine today.
Now, it’s common knowledge that the British Royal Family have a team of the best homeopaths taking care of them and that Prince Charles has been the patron of the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital. As you know the Royal family are always meeting people, shaking hands and breathing closely with many in the global commonwealth and yet they never seem go down with an illness. They are extremely healthy as a family.
Why are we not emulating them?
When we come to food this is where hospitals continue to feed patients with nutriment that is little better than what is dispensed in NZ prisons.
I wrote specifically about this in a publication Paradise Rising that I produced back in 1980. Very little has changed.
In particular, the food is mass cooked and usually over cooked as well. Air NZ economy passengers fare better than our patients in NZ hospitals, who are there to become healthier and healed.
On the 26/10/2006 the NZ Herald published that “Eating vegetables each day helps keep brain fade away. This was published in the latest issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
It stated that “vegetables are brain food, according to a new study which found that eating veggies can help cognitive decline in the elderly.”
Compared to people who consumed less than one serving of vegetables a day, people who ate at least 2.8 servings of vegetables a day saw their rate of cognitive change slow by roughly 40 percent,” study author Martha Clare Morris of Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago says.
“This decrease is equivalent to about 5 years of younger age.
Researchers followed the eating habits of 3,718 senior citizens over a six year period and found that consumption especially of leafy, green vegetables were linked to a slowing of cognitive decline.
They also found that the older the person, the greater the impact of eating more than two servings of vegetables a day. However they were surprised that eating fruit showed no link to reducing memory loss. (fruit instead helps clean and flush out the body Ed.)
So here we are, with thousands of years of evolution behind us and we still spurn common knowledge and instead become addicted to processed foods that have no chlorophyll or life force and en mass we become dis-eased as a consequence.
It is obvious ... That we have become separated from nature, the source of where we have originally sprung.
Science has become mesmerised with its own power.
When will we ever learn, when will we ever learn?
Ohhhh ohhh.. I have become ... Comfortably Numb! ... Pink Floyd

Sacred Cows and Sacrificial Lambs in New Zealand.
The hidden underbelly of NZ, and the guts of the dilemma.
As climate change and inclement weather patterns blow and rain upon our door, our New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark has taken up the challenge to make NZ the foremost country of 'sustainability' on the planet. In her State of the Nation speech, sustainability seemed to be the Prime Minister's favourite word, which she used 33 times. She promised a sustainable nation - calling 2007 a year of action on sustainability - and said that the pride we take in making our country sustainable and carbon neutral will define us, just as our anti-nuclear stance has.
With energy, transportation, farming, industry and forestry being the big users of energy as well as emitters of greenhouse gasses, to every ones surprise, one of the greatest releases of climate change inducing gasses happens to be ... farming.
After cutting down 2/3rds of the native forests in the last 200 years, NZ went heavily into farming, especially dairy, beef and sheep. This propelled higher living standards for NZers on the back of export markets, where returns have been beneficial to the country as a whole. (Except the environment) However, sheep, beef and cows are also huge producers of both methane and CO2.
So much so that farming in NZ produces 51% of NZ’s greenhouse gas emissions, yet are only 20% of NZ’s Gross National Product. That's a deficit of 31%.
In plain English, it’s an unsustainable industry.
When we look at animal farming, we find that we derive wool, milk, and hides from these animals, however they are all consumed for meat, a staple diet for a huge majority of NZers.
This is the sacred cow that is sacrosanct to many NZers.
To give up meat ... NEVER!
So here’s the rub.
If we love our children, then we had better find a solution to farming's high greenhouse gas output. For if NZ does not solve its animal flatulence, burping and breathing challenge, then how can we expect America and Australia to change, or China for that matter. Though NZ’s greenhouse gas emissions are infinitesimal compared with other countries, if we don’t meet our moral obligations, then we are not part of the solution, but are continuing the problem.
As a nation we could easily migrate our food growing capacity to diversify into nuts, grains, vines and berries, intermingled with fruit trees and more vegetables. All we do is check out what flora grows in other countries at the same latitude, be in the Northern or Southern hemisphere. NZ prides itself as innovative, agile and quick on the uptake, remember the electric fence is a NZ farming invention. Why put up a wall, when you can string out a single strand of wire and send an electric charge of varying intensity along it, to keep your cows corralled.
Of course there is a small but growing number of people globally who say that the way forward is by giving up red meat eating, (giving up the flesh) others say, then relinquish white meat, (chicken) and (fish) then there is the vegetarian and vegan model for food uptake as to where attentive people are going.
Recently, the Dalai Lama a red meat eater relinquished meat eating, taking the step into vegetarianism. While we can not have expectations of the whole global population becoming vegetarian. (but some day in the future this will happen provided we have a planet) I feel that a strategic choice to slowly wean ourselves down from meat 6 days a week to a few days per week is the go.
Of course virtually all of NZs politicians are meat eaters by culture or by habit. The main political parties have at every function plates and plates of animal offerings from roast lamb, to veal cutlets, beef steaks and mutton, sausage rolls, pork pies then there may be venison as well, plus chicken. And it is all very natural, and part of life
Note that Jeanette Fitzsimonds, Green Party co leader, a keen organic carnivore does not broach this in any Green critique on the causes of NZ greenhouse gas emitting. Such is meat eating so ingrained into the national psyche, that the perception is that even the Greens are held captive to their craving for meat.
Once a dinner plate of food was a good number of veges or gruel surrounded by a very small portion of meat, but this has turned the opposite way today to a large hunk of meat covering 2/3rds of the plate (in Australia) with 3 veg like a spud, carrot and assorted peas. Now, with cancer of the bowel becoming a growing Western disease, the answer is becoming more obvious. Cut down on meat eating!
What I find of interest is that I have noted some carnivores many warm hearted and loving, calling for a greater spiritual impetus for human kind, I wonder if they could call on other carnivores globally to shift their olfactory organs and taste buds into a more plant based intake, could that then induce more optimistic change and bring about a greater spiritual consciousness on earth?
It would diminish the 'kill' mentality that seems rampant on earth at this moment in time.
This no doubt is only a thought away.
There is a counter saying too, that goes "it is not what you put into your mouth, but what comes out of your mouth' ... Sooooooo, we’ve a serious problem here in NZ and it's intensified by farm animals
However, can NZ break with their habits? Will they let go of an old pattern? Are they strong enough ethically? Have they the will?
Though I know of people who are loving and kind, they say they will fight for the freedom to eat meat! ... But at what cost?
Bon Appetite

News Media the major influences of consensus reality, in particular and entertainment in general be it local or global, is near on a farce.
Owned by or influenced by corporate interests in most cases in bed with governments, world media keeps us uniformed as it sensationalises the macabre and the violent and trivialises the important and meaningful.
Here in NZ the ‘dumbing down’ process is ‘full steam ahead.’ The three major TV corporations generally open the News with violence and war or a police report from the courts or a disaster from somewhere.
All three TV stations consistently stream daily trash into our living rooms where our sensitive and open hearted children sit, watching and absorbing it all. The impact of horror and pain insidiously traumatises us by consistently eroding our faith in the higher virtues of humanity, so that we finally become so inured to it all, that we feel it’s actually normal for the world at large to be gross, grey and violent.
With a daily blitz of detritus and crud, we are witnessing an orchestrated attack on the sensitivities of the global human population.
The result. We walk away from watching the news totally disillusioned with what's happening on earth.
And we take this ‘brainwashing’ into the community at large. (Though if our local sports team has been successful we go away with a temporary ‘warm fuzzy, until of course the team loses.)
Who is the person responsible for the selection of news items as well as other violent programs?
Why do ‘they’ hide behind anonymity? (News papers and radio are the same in NZ.)
Is the prerequisite for choosing the news items to be broadcast or published, that you are a isolated silent psychopath?
We need to see their name and picture and the whites of their eyes, as the buck stops with them. The bottom line ... aren’t they the ones initiating / perpetuating this BS and negative propaganda?
What’s the Answer?
The optimistic and positive side to all this is, there’s a universal archetype that enables humans to peacefully dialogue with fellow humanity.
This is: Say something pleasant, then say what needs to be said, and then finish with something warm and positive.
International Toast Masters use this same archetype / philosophy at all their meetings.
The NZ Maori have since their emergence used the same procedure. Their method;
Sing a song (waiata), say what is needed to be said, then finish again with a song.
Positive, (maybe) negative, positive. The 2 good qualities overrides the 1 negative.
Is it that difficult ... to get it?
In other instances, when there is apparently no interesting news to broadcast, the media instead seem to go to the courts to find the latest grizzly or morbid case to continue the orchestrated mass demoralising of the human populace.
Where is the good news?
Where are the success stories?
The latest business initiative that offers sustainability?
Solutions to climate change?
New renewable energy systems coming out.
Peace initiatives by NGOs.
Solutions for children, education, new health enterprises, why holistic preferences are gaining acceptance.
Socially responsible investment successes.
Cultural break throughs.
Maori initiatives, organic gardens on all Maraes?
New geometric architecture and city plans and layouts.
Art, music and drama that inspires.
There are hundreds of unique, interesting, newsy items in every city and country just waiting to make their accomplishments and successes, public.
These news items would in turn encourage the community to be more pro active, optimistic, positive, bringing society together and validating affirmative deeds.
Yes, we need to know the bad news, but we don’t need to see 75% of the program slanted towards it. On TV it could be just read out, and the ghastly pictures not necessarily be shown.
So why is the present orchestrated litany of garbage and refuse being used to microwave the community ...?
1) Do we the people via our elected servants the Government, not collectively own the air waves in our respective countries?
2) Then ‘as the government’ rent these frequency waves of both radio and TV out to corporations and interested parties?
3) Then licensed to numb down, the corporation then broadcasts crap at us ... as entertainment and make a truck load of money from selling advertising in the process?
In a participatory democracy we the people actually participate and meet, talk, phone, email, write, and communicate with our elected servants to empower our elected servants to do our bidding.
Why have we become comfortably numb?
Lights on, nobody at home ...
and ....we went out to find the enemy ... and what we found was ... that the enemy was us?
