Have you heard of STV the "Single Transferable Voting" System?

I trust you have and that you have educated yourself on this superb voting method.

Wellington City and Dunedin among a small group of towns use this system and it is by far the most fairest method of voting, for when you vote for a person such as a mayor and or councilors. This is an example of higher consciousness being deployed.
.
The NZ Government website that explains this is at: http://www.stv.govt.nz/

When NZers become wise they will realize that this voting system empowers the community, and rewards the official who is a unifier of people and penalises those who polarize the community. This is a system for conscious citizens. It is 21st century technology and systems working together. If we are unable to comprehend how this system can enable better governance by the community, then regrettably we lose this profound opportunity to empower conscious governance.

http://www.stv.govt.nz/

To check out the history of the Values Party, NZ and our planets first national, ecologically based political party go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Values_Party

You will get an understanding of the long and winding road that green consciousness has had to endure to educate human beings into the realization that as an emergent species our bodies are made of the environment and made of the elements of this planet. When we crystalise our understanding that we are a gift of nature, we can then engage in reciprocity and align with the natural world by becoming conscious of what we need to urgent do to bring about super sustainability. Read the “manifestos” on the link at the bottom of the page.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Values_Party

And if you want to read the Green Party perspective on the Values Party go http://www.greens.org.nz/page/history-green-party?#

There is some very interesting information and you will see that two previous co leaders of the Green party, Jeanette Fitzsimons and the late Rod Donald plus Mike Ward were Values Party members before becoming Green Members of Parliament.

Also, that we have to be appreciative that Green consciousness is coming to the major political parties because of the Values and Green party, however there is now an urgency to Green the whole of human society.

That’s http://www.greens.org.nz/page/history-green-party?#

That is EARTH FILES for this week.

Have you perused the website New Zealand Business Council of Sustainable Development at www.nzbcsd.org.nz

In their latest media release they say that;

September 14 2009

Media Release

Business leaders: proposed Emissions Trading Scheme deal disappointing, costly, continues uncertainty

The proposed changes to the emissions trading scheme are disappointing.

The Business Council, whose 63 member companies’ annual sales of $59 billion equate to about 43% of gross domestic product in dollar terms, has argued for pricing emissions since 2003.

Capping the price on emissions and delaying the phase out of assistance for major emitters could cost the taxpayers billions of dollars, at the expected price of carbon following a new climate change deal at Copenhagen. It also reduces New Zealand’s prospects of meeting its emissions commitments because major emitters have less incentive to cut emissions. In the meantime, the taxpayer picks up the larger share of the bill.

See www.nzbcsd.org.nz for the full transcript.

And what of the up and coming Conference in Copenhagen?

Go to their site and sign on to "encouraging" the NZ Government to do something bold for our collective future. If you are a parent or a grandparent, here is a way you can support all children of the now and the future.

With NZ in the top 5 of the planets polluters per head of population, we need to show both courage and moral leadership. If we are not bold and make deep cuts, other countries may boycott our Clean Green image, due to our perceived double standards.
