Betrayed Again by a Global Politician

Sunday, April 2nd 2006 @ 12:00 AM (not yet rated)    post viewed 313 times

Tony Blair,

This man must be seriously ill.  After calling for a world crusade against global warming and climate change, we find out that he actively went against his own clarion call. No wonder youth in the street today are going haywire.

Blair Blocked Plan to Cut Emissions.

This comes from the Independent in England and was repeated by the NZ Herald.

By Environmental Editor Geoffrey Lean

Abridged:

Tony Blair personally frustrated measures to cut Britain's emissions of the pollution that causes global warming, despite repeatedly calling for action, it has been revealed.

The Prime Minister did not back proposals from his Environment Secretary, Margaret Beckett, that aimed to get the Government's strategy to fight climate change back on track.

Mr Blair even chaired the committee that conducted the review and failed to back a 58-point plan put forward by Mrs Beckett.

Mr Blair told a climate change conference in New Zealand last week that failure to take action on global warming would be "absolutely disastrous".

He added: "I don't want it on the conscience of me, or my generation, that we were told what this problem was and did nothing about it."

Privately the Prime Minister shows little interest in measures to cut pollution, preferring international talks, where he increasingly mirrors the position of President George W Bush.

End.

Does this mean that the World Court in the Hague, in Holland is the next step for politicians who betray the wishes of the democratic process?

Me thinks they are going to be busy in the future.

Momentarily disillusioned again.

How does he live with himself?

Tony Blair is a committed Christian, who "keeps the Bible by his bed", reports The Observer.

This is very unfair on committed heart based Christians, to have him representing them.
